Jump Starting

Jump starting or performing battery service is the same on a hybrid as any standard vehicle because you use the 12V battery.

FOLLOW ALL STANDARD SAFETY PROCEDURES FOR BATTERY SERVICE

  • Wear protective eyewear and gloves
  • Never lean over battery
  • Always connect while both vehicles are shut down
  • Use solid ground at least 18 inches away
  • Never smoke or expose the battery to a spark or open flame

Battery fumes and fluids are toxic, corrosive, and explosive, and batteries should be treated as hazardous material.
