Manufacturers and EMS personnel all recommend that anyone who needs to physically isolate the high voltage components of a hybrid should have the following:
RUBBER OR SYNTHETIC INSULATING GLOVES RATED FOR AT LEAST 1,000 VOLTS
LEATHER OVERPROTECTORS
DIGITAL MULTIMETER THAT IS RATED FOR AT LEAST 1,000 VOLTS
ELECTRICAL LEADS THAT ARE RATED FOR 1,000 VOLTS WITH AT LEAST ONE INSULATED ALLIGATOR CLIP
