Anchoring is always required when winching a casualty. When the resistance that needs to be moved exceeds your tow trucks anchor ability you must look at ways to increase your anchor ability. This should always be calculated before attempting to winch the load.
Here are the 2 ways to calculate anchor ability:
1. Start with the static weight of your truck and multiply it by damage resistance .666.
This number represents your trucks anchor ability with all of its brakes locked.
2. Start with the resistance that needs to be overcome and multiply it by 1.5.
This number represents what your tow truck would need to weigh in order to anchor that resistance.
