PROCEDURE FOR SUCCESS

BEFORE ENGAGING THE WINCH YOU MUST FIRST ESTABLISH:

  1. IDENTIFY the HARD NUMBER of STATIC WEIGHT of the casualty or load.


  2. IDENTIFY the TYPE of RESISTANCE being created.

    CAUTION:     the type of resistance may have multiple levels.


  3. IDENTIFY the WEIGHT for EACH TYPE of RESISTANCE being created.

    (if more than one type of level of resistance is present.)


  4. IDENTIFY the RESISTANCE FACTOR for EACH TYPE of RESISTANCE.


  5. CALCULATE the RESISTANCE to OVERCOME.
