Checks and Balances

Determine the location of the 5th wheel setting. The further forward the setting, the more lift an operator can attain.

Check the clearances between the tractor’s frame rails and the trailer’s leading edge/nose, the fairing on the side and top of the tractor, the tractors’ exhaust system and the very front of the trailer.

Do NOT place any cribbing between the tractor’s frame and the upper 5th wheel plate/nose of the trailer to assist in lifting the trailer. This can result in sever damage to the frame or trailer.
