Steps toward certification MUST BE COMPLETED IN ORDER. You cannot attend an In-Yard training event before the mandatory Online Training has been completed.

Ontario Requirements
Ontario’s towing certification program is overseen by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) as part of its efforts to regulate the towing industry and ensure public safety. Here’s an overview of the key components of the certification program:

Training Course
The towing certification program consists of completing a training course offered by approved training providers. These courses cover various aspects of towing operations, including but not limited to:

- Safety procedures and best practices
- Proper use of towing equipment and techniques
- Vehicle recovery methods
- Customer service skills
- Legal and regulatory requirements related to towing operations
Certification Exam
Upon completing the training course, individuals are required to pass a certification exam. The exam tests candidates’ knowledge of towing procedures, safety regulations, and other relevant topics.

Other Requirements
Requirements for Certification: To be eligible for certification, candidates must meet certain requirements, which may include having a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and meeting any other criteria set by the MTO or the training provider.
Compliance with Regulations: Towing operators and towing companies must comply with all relevant regulations set forth by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, including those related to vehicle safety, licensing, insurance, and business practices.

The In-Yard Training is capped at 16 students as required by Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER for an In-Yard training event. In-Yard Training happens rain or shine, so please dress appropriately.
* WALK-INS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND AN IN-YARD CLASS.
* ABSENCES AND LATES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. THERE IS A RESCHEDULING FEE FOR NO-SHOWS.
* MINIMAL WORKWEAR REQUIRED: BOOTS & GLOVES.

TowTruckDriverTraining.ca has teamed up with WreckMaster to assemble a list of Certified Training Locations based on approved instructors, equipment, and training grounds. Ensuring you receive the high-quality, hands-on, In-Yard experience you’re looking for.
The bulk of our In-Yard training is currently conducted around the GTA. Events outside of the GTA will be scheduled when the demand has been met. In order for us to schedule In-Yard Training locations, we must first identify who has completed their mandatory online learning. Events will not be scheduled in areas that do not have students ready for this step.
NOTE: You will NOT be able to register for the In-Yard Training until the Mandatory Online Training has been completed.
