TRAIN THE TRAINER COURSE
Steps to Record Your Trainees’ Progress
Steps toward certification MUST BE COMPLETED IN ORDER. You cannot administer the In-Yard training course before the trainee has completed their mandatory Online Training.
Trainees must complete the online training course individually
Administer the Trainer Course with your Trainees in the Yard
Print and upload the Trainee Completion Form
Trainees will be sent an invitation to take the Final Evaluation

By administering this course, you assume responsibility for ensuring the success and honest completion of your trainees. This includes providing clear guidance, fostering an environment of integrity, and ensuring that all assessments are conducted fairly. As the course administrator, you are accountable for the trainees’ learning outcomes and required time spent on the assessments. You must also take necessary steps to prevent misconduct or dishonesty, maintaining the credibility of the program and its certifications.
Required Equipment Needed for the Train the Traininer Course

Tow Truck Equipment:
- Emergency lighting and work lights
- Fire extinguisher
- First aid kit
- Traffic warning devices (cones, flares, reflective triangles)
- PTO (Power Take Off) controls and hydraulic pump, valve body, hoses
- Wheel lift, L-arms, tire scoops, and receiver sliders
- Tow sling and tow bar (if equipped)
- Dollies (if equipped)
- Boom, sheave guides, winch, wire rope, and free spool mechanism
- Tool storage boxes with tools and supplies
Flatbed Equipment:
- Chain key hole slots, D-rings, and grab hooks
- Wheel chocks
- Winch free-wheel mechanism
PPE (Personal Protection Equipment):
- Proper footwear
- Gloves
- Safety glasses
- Hard hat
- Reflective clothing
Towing/Transport:
- T-hooks, R-hooks, mini J hooks (for loading bridle)
- Skates for locked or immobilized wheels
- Securement devices (chains, straps) for vehicle loading and securing
- Stop, turn, and running lights for trailing vehicles
- Steering wheel securement devices
- Dolly wheels for certain towing conditions
Recovery & Winching Equipment:
- Snatch blocks
- Grade 8 alloy chains (14 ft, 2 ft)
- Recovery chains, straps, shackles, hooks
- Skates (to reduce resistance on hard surfaces)
- PVC pipe (42-inch schedule 80) for stiff leg rollover technique
